One of the companies I often hear great things about at the various trade shows and other media events I attend is BEEVERYCREATIVE. The Portugal-based company, and winner of numerous awards over the past year and a half, has been incredibly busy over the last several months releasing four new 3D printers to the market.
Leading the company has been CEO and co-founder Diogo Quental, whom I had the pleasure of meeting back in April at Inside 3D Printing in NYC. Quental has an aura about him which clearly shows his passion for this incredible technology. This is why it came as a bit of a surprise today when we learned that Quental would be stepping aside as the CEO of the company to take on another project.
Stepping in to take his place, however, is someone equally as qualified and passionate about the company and the industry in general: fellow co-founder Aurora Baptista.
Baptista, a founding partner in the company since their launch back in 2012, has extensive management experience. A graduate of Harvard University and the John F. Kennedy School of Government, and past partner of several larger firms such as Deloitte and Serviços Gerais de Gestão, she seems to have what it takes to move the company forward.
“Starting tomorrow our CEO will be Aurora Baptista,” wrote Sergio Moreira, Community Manager & Head of Online Marketing for the company. “She is a founder of BEEVERYCREATIVE, and has an academic background in management with different degrees in several Universities. She has more than 3o years of relevant professional experience, mainly at McKinsey, Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in which she became partner, as well as in other startup businesses. Francisco Mendes and Jorge Pinto, also founders and the minds behind BEETHEFIRST 3D printer, remain being CIO and CTO respectively.”
While Quental may be leaving as head of BEEVERYCREATIVE, he is not at all leaving the 3D printing space. In fact he has already begun work on a new venture called GetReady4 3D, which will specialize in workshops and e-learning courses related to 3D printing. They will be collaborating with SMEs to identify and implement opportunities around 3D printing and provide reviews of products from a user’s perspective. Now that this move has been made, both BEEVERYCREATIVE and GetReady4 3D seem to have the right individuals leading them, and we wish them both tremendous success.
